History

Our roots:

  • 1969: Founding of C.E.T.A. S.A. in Eibar.
  • 1971: Move to Elgoibar, which is the current location.
  • 1985: Change of name and corporate form thus giving rise to CETASA, S. COOP.
  • 1990: Acquisition of the company by an investor group thus changing the name to GRINDEL S.A.
  • 1993: The deep crisis that originated in the early 1990s had negative consequences on the profits of the company, thus resulting in the investor group deciding not to continue with its involvement in the company.
    A group of workers decided to invest in the company and become the owners thereof, thus Engranajes GRINDEL S.A.L. was born.
    At that time, 80% of the turnover came from machine tool, which was exclusively of national origin.
    In an effort to boost trade, the company diversified into other sectors and endeavoured to enter international markets.
  • 2000: 30% turnover in international markets was achieved.
  • 2001: The ISO 2001 certification was obtained in order to comply with the ever increasing demands of clients at national and international levels.
  • 2002: An expansion of the production plant was carried out.
  • 2005: The ISO 14001 certification was obtained in order to comply with its environmental commitment.
  • 2007-2008: New invesments were made in state-of-the-art Gleason P600-800 gear hobbing machines and in Reishauer RZ400 & RZ1000 teeth grinding machines.
  • 2014: The quality facilities were expanded and renovated.Investments were made in advanced technology measurement equipment from Zeiss and Gleason
  • 2014: Investments were made in advanced technology measurement equipment from Zeiss and Gleason.
  • 2016: Took delivery of a Gleason Pfauter CNC Gear Shaping Machine P600/800 ES with an electronic helical guide for cutting interior/exterior spur and helical gears as well as a Gleason Pfauter CNC Gear Hobbing Machine P400.
